From the World of John Wick: Ballerina

From the John Wick world, Ballerina 2025 is a stylish and intense action ride. It must have been painstakingly built by Ana de Armas’s mesmerizing charisma. Building atop the mythical John Wick world, it injects fresh energy with a captivating new lead. Most crucially, Ana de Armas physically and emotionally supports the demands of her role. Her performance as Rooney, an assassin ballerina on the search for revenge, is compelling and relatable. Even as the film allows moments to explore her trauma and transformation, it does not lose so much as a single step in pace or spectacle. The choreography is also phenomenal. Every fight scene marries violence with elegance, providing differing visual rhythms. Some familiar Wick-style motifs are back, but not in a feeling of déjà vu. These familiar beats help to make the franchise connection feel fluid and not hard to grasp. Len Wiseman, however, seems to have done his bit to keep the plot tightly knit and visually engaging.
